We often have to cancel things

Siblings tell us that family stuff often gets cancelled. This is because their brothers or sisters have appointments, need to be in hospital or become ill. Siblings find it disappointing when they can’t do things they’ve been looking forward to.

Some things you can do if stuff gets cancelled

1

Tell your parent if you feel sad or upset, they will want to know how you feel.

2

Write down your feelings in a diary or notebook.

3

Ask your parent if they can help you arrange to do something with a friend instead.

If we have to cancel something, my mum writes it in a notebook and we try and do it another time. It makes me feel like it's important to her too.
